I was the teacher's pet in third grade. My teacher, Miss Harvey, helped me feel special and important. I remember calling her mom once when asking for permission to go to the restroom.  Miss Harvey was much older than most of the teachers at my school. Since she didn’t have any children of her own, I liked giving her things to make her happy.  The last day of third grade was also Miss Harvey’s last day of teaching. To celebrate that day, I brought her the traditional apple to school and a photo of her and I that my mom had taken. I was so fortunate to have Miss Harvey as my teacher.
